This seems to be a universal problem. Many boards and committee chairs have trouble filling all the necessary positions in their groups. There are a lot of reasons for this but one clearly is the reluctance of potential members to commit to all the meeting time which may be involved.
Using LORROS means that you do not have to have as many face to face or conference call meetings where all members must commit to being available at the same time and must sit through the entire meeting when they may have other time commitments. With LORROS, members can join a meeting when it fits their schedule, spend as much or as little time as they want and concentrate on the agenda topics of most interest to them. This, however, does not mean they are out of the loop on other matters. All comments submitted during a LORROS meeting are emailed to all of the participants or they can be viewed at any time online.
More people can get involved with less time spent. Seems like a good idea.
