Web meetings/conference calls are an essential and important tool for many non-profit and condominium board meetings … but
The data below demonstrates that 21 minutes of every meeting is used (wasted) before the meeting even starts. The problem is that there is nothing we can do about it.
It’s a combination of human nature and technology.
If we accept the premise that we can’t do anything about it … let’s look at it from a different perspective.
Start the discussion before the meeting starts.
What if we could start each agenda topic discussion as soon as the meeting package is sent out? It would mean that by the time the meeting starts everyone participating has had an opportunity to express their views and consider others views.
It sounds simple enough … but what about transparency and accountability? Having backroom discussions, or emails prior to meetings is frowned upon (and in some cases illegal) in order to ensure the legitimacy of the decision-making process.
Simple solutions are always the best.
LORROS is an online meeting app for boards, committees, or any group that meets regularly to discuss and make decisions in a formalized manner. The meeting package (agenda, files, etc.) is created in LORROS and emailed to the board members. Members can start making comments on each agenda topic as soon as they receive the package.
LORROS has a Facebook type timeline that captures all the agenda topic discussions (comments and replies) providing a full transcript (accountability) of the decision process.
Once the board meets (either in person or via web/conference), they are that much closer to making a decision … saving a lot of time and frustration.
